Our little girl is 3 months old. She is a fantastic smiler, gurgles and coos. She has a phenominal grip and beautiful blue eyes - just like her big brother. She loves to push with her legs, but hates tummy time. Waking 1-2 times a night is a much welcomed change! She can hold her head up when placed in sitting and loves to purposefully swat at toys. She has become really good at putting her hands together, and then, of course, they go in the mouth.

Her weight (from the home scale) is about 12 pounds. Isaac was almost 16 pounds at this age!

Mommy went back to work this month. It has been a bit rough leaving both our kiddos, but I know they are in good hands. We can't wait until more of her little personality starts to shine through.

Taking advantage of a beautiful winter day in Southern California before the new year, we headed out to Science Museum and then off to visit Uncle Sam and Universal City Walk for dinner. Love family days.

New Years Eve started in Pasadena for the Band show. Here we saw a few of the bands perform on the field that were going to participate in the Rose parade. It was quite warm, but fun!

Then we headed over to Kevan's for an appetizer dinner and cousin time.

Once Isaac was so overtired (around 10pm) we headed home and rang in the New Year quietly watching Dick Clark's Rockin New Year's Eve and the ball drop. Can't wait to see what 2012 brings!

Christmas morning started at our house with Isaac tearing apart his gifts and Brynn sleeping through most of it. Fun things were opened by Mommy and Daddy too :)

We had Christmas Eve dinner at the house this year. With Joy and George in Tennessee visiting the Olsens, we had a quiet (yet fun) time celebrating with the Sherwins. Watching and playing Kinect had us some serious laughs!

Isaac loved showing Nana and Papa how he [masterfully] worked the iPad.

Brynn, of course, had to look super adorable in her dress and flower on her first Christmas Eve!

Hanukkah 2011 was fantastic! First one for our new Brynn, 3rd for Isaac! Home for the first night, David and Carol's for the second with the family (both Sherwin's and Schneiders!). On the 6th night (Christmas Eve) Mom and Dad, along with Mike and Yanelly came to celebrate.

Our Brynn is growing! She is 2 months old and becoming more beautiful each day. We had our well-baby check-up at 9 weeks old and here are our stats:

Height: 22.25 inches long - 35th percentile
Weight: 10 lbs 7 oz - 32nd percentile

Still on the smaller side, but catching up quickly!

Brynn is wonderfully cooing and smiling. She is still only sleeping 3-4 hours at a time, making the nights a bit difficult, and really loves to be held!

Isaac is really learning how to push the boundaries of the rules (and his parent's patience) with a full-fledged terrible twos at home. However, the good times always make up for the bad with a big hug or an"I love you, mama." That cheesy smile of his isn't too bad either. He is getting into the upcoming holiday spirit, asking about the Menorah and getting a "dump truck, excavator, skid steer, and white van" from Santa.

Just recently (this past week), he will ask where baby sister is when she is in another room sleeping or with Daddy and we are together. makes me happy to know he is accepting she is here to stay :)

Headed out to the Santa Barbara Zoo last weekend. Just like Isaac's first time there, Brynn slept most of the time. It was great seeing and hearing Isaac name off the animals - and seeing it through a toddler's eyes. At one point the lioness jumped up on the rock right in front of Isaac by the glass!

After the zoo, we headed to the Santa Barbara Pier where we had ice cream (even though it was cold!) and then some dinner (a bit backwards). Everyone survived and it was a great day!

I cannot believe it - 1 month has come and gone. Our daughter Brynn is doing fanstastic! Her newborn wrinkles are filling out, she is making eye contact here and there, and a few wonderful coo's are coming out now. We are only sleeping in 2-3 hour stretches which is super fun for mom and dad, but I remember that it does end at some point!

Isaac is slowly becoming accustomed to having another child in the home, now saying "good night" and "good morning" to his "baby sister."

We have to keep the tradition of the chair "Watch Me Grow" pictures that we did with Isaac!

Halloween is always a fun time and now Isaac is old enough to get the whole "candy" thing. Had a few trips to Underwood Farms with Isaac's Day Care and Mommy & Me class.

Not one, but two times the family went trick-or-treating. Once at Carpenteria beach where Kevan, Connie, Carly, and Katie were camping. Its great how all the trailers get into it and all the kids come for treats.

Monday was Halloween and Isaac was jazzed to get back into his Lightening McQueen race car driver costume first for Mommy & Me class. There they had a little parade of all the toddlers around the adult school, got some more treats. Then that night, the cousins came over and went from our house to their house for some MORE treats!! Needless to say, Isaac scored this year! Brynn stayed nice and bundled the whole time and slept right through most of it. She definitely had the coziest ride.

Brynn had her first check-up with the Pediatrician. All is good! She has lost a little weight which I am told is normal - as long as she is back to her birth weight by 2 weeks of age. She is a petite little lady!!

Here are the stats:
Height - 19.25 inches (I guess she shrunk?!) 34th percentile
Weight - 5 lbs 12 oz 4th percentile

On October 5th I started having pelvic pressure and some contractions, decided to go to L&D and was sent home because I was only 1.5 cm dilated (which I had been for 1 week). On October 6th I had my doctor's appointment and was told I was 3 cm dilated.

That night we had dinner plans where my contractions started to become uncomfortable and were about 5-7 minutes apart. Once we got home around 8pm, got all the bags situated, they slowed down to about 8 minutes apart, but were getting increasingly painful.

Around 10 pm I couldn't handle it anymore and decided to head to the hospital. Dropped Isaac off with family and checked in around 11pm. After being checked (where I could barely lay still long enough!), I was 4 cm and wanted an epidural. I didn't remember my first being this painful. After they wheeled me into the delivery room to get the IV going for the epidural, my water broke after the doc put in an internal electrode to make sure the baby was doing okay. Before I realized it, I was checked and was 8 cm! I went from 4cm to 8cm in about 5 minutes!! At that point I was unable to have any pain medication and started pushing. About 10 minutes later, our beautiful baby girl was born. It felt like 2 hours, but Eric said it was only 10 minutes :) When she was born she had the cord wrapped around her neck 3 times and was a bit blue, but none of the nurses or doctor were freaking out - not like I was! Yet after what seemed like an eternity, she started crying.

We are ecstatic to announce with love:

We are home now, she is eating wonderfully and doing great!

It happens to be Eric's 33rd birthday today (the 10th) also! Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Isaac has been asking (repeatedly) to go to Disneyland. Our response doesn't change, "Not until Baby Sister gets here."

Instead - as a treat - we took him to Downtown Disney and told him it was the Disney "mall" so not to be disappointed that he couldn't go into the actual park. We ate yummy food, took a ride on the tram, and got a few prizes. Also, got a lot of walking in to help kick-in labor!

It has been a while since our last post. Since Isaac's 2 year birthday, we have announced that Isaac will be a big brother. I am currently 22 weeks (5.5 months) pregnant with a baby girl!! Here she is:

I have been feeling movement for a few weeks, starting a few days a week - now daily. Tonight was the first time I have felt a kick outside of my belly and Eric was able to share the moment. So amazing.

Isaac has become accustomed to "baby sister" and keeps saying she will "be here soon." I am afraid when our little lady gets here, he will continue to call her "baby sister" - which isn't really that bad :)

Next on the agenda - finishing off the last few weeks of Isaac's Mommy & Me class, my 30th birthday (ouch), Isaac's second trip to Disneyland (or as he calls it - "Mickey's House"), Eric's 3rd Father's Day, our 7th wedding anniversary, the 4th of July, and a baby shower. I am tired, but excited thinking about it all.

I will leave you with our Isaac, living up to the meaning of his name, laughter...

Our son is two years old!! Crazy!

I still remember like yesterday this and this.

So many things have been happening around the Schneider household. Eric has been traveling both international and within the states for his job. I am still doing my Physical Therapy at Kaiser and teaching online for University of Phoenix. Our little man is running, saying 2 word sentences (Mommy's Car, Daddy's Phone) and cutting teeth left and right. He has a total of 9 teeth with a few more starting to show. I see some long nights ahead of us....

He is still staying with family most of the week and doing Mommy & Me on Tuesdays. Soon I see some change (maybe a preschool 2 days a week), but reasons for that is to be discussed at another time :-)

Isaac is growing taller by the minute, but thankfully his weight has slowed down a bit. Eric made this nifty chart - see below:

At his 2 year check up his Pediatrician said, "He is why I do this job - he is just a perfect 2 year old!" **sigh** So awesome!

We originally were going to celebrate at the park, but Mother Nature had other plans with rain, hail, and even a little snow - not kidding!
Thomas the Train themed, we moved the party into our house and had a great time.

Mommy & Me class once a week continues to be awesome while our little man builds his social skills and is constantly exposed to new experiences and information.

For him though - it is all music, reading, and play, while mom gets to chat with other parents and realizes that she is not alone in many of her experiences as a first time mom.

Isaac & I had our first Toddler/Mommy & Me class.

Since Day 1 he has always been clingy - nothing changed when we entered the class. He was unsure for the first 15 minutes, got much better once he was able to play on the playground. Hung out with our friend Kira.

Around snack time, the sleepy eyes set in. Yet, he was a champ, hung in for another hour and passed out in the car.

I am looking forward to a fun semester and hopefully meeting some cool new friends.

Eric had to travel to India for 7 days - commence operation single parent week for me. Thank goodness for Skype and Google Voice - free internet and video calling - we are able to chat with Daddy through the week.

Isaac is totally into trains. So we headed down to Travel Town in Griffith Park by the LA Zoo. He loved all the old trains and after a few tears, was cool with the train ride.

He really loved pointing out all the trains to Daddy and picking up pine cones.

Couldn't end the day without getting a train from the gift shop. He didn't put it down for a week. That's a LONG time in toddler-hood, lol.

Our son is 1.5 years old, 18 months. Wow.

We had our well baby visit with the Pediatrician and here are out stats:

Height - 33 inches, 71st percentile
Weight - 27 pounds, 72nd percentile

The pediatrician said she rarely sees them match up like that.

At the doctors, he cried of course, but still stayed in my lap and let the doctor do her thing. Two shots were given - I hated it more than him...then he slept for 2 hours. This was MUCH better than the 12 month check-up. Great- Grandma was with me and we had lunch with my Girlfriend Shoshana. The Doc said the "terrible two's" start about 18 months - oh lordy.

Otherwise he is doing great. She is not worried about the language thing (or lack thereof), not until 2yrs at least. Continuing with the whole milk until 2 and no need to worry about potty training until 2.

Before we know it, his birthday will be here. We love you buddy!!

We had tons of fun at the Port Heuneme Air Show. Saw the Thunderbirds live in action, fun and loud!

Isaac loves airplane and points and looks up everytime one goes by. I see many more air shows in our future.

Ashley & Guy's Wedding.

Headed out to Mammoth Lakes for the union of two beautiful people, Ashley and Guy.

The roads there have so many unexpected beautiful parks, great places for us to stretch our legs and Isaac got to run and feed the ducks.

Made it to the hotel where we met up with Grandma and Grandpa Sherwin, Great-Grandpa Joe, Uncle Mike, Aunt Yanelly, and Uncle Sam.

Grandma and Grandpa just had returned from Banff and the glaciers - brought their grandson a bunch of great gifts; standing out was this moose backpack, cute!

The weather was incredible. Summertime with bursting showers and hail. Isaac and Daddy standing on the hotel porch, watching the rain.

The festivities were to be held outside, however Mother Nature had another plan. Thankfully the Groom's restaurant was connected to the hotel and they were able to get married indoor in the gorgeous lobby.

My Grandparents, Hal and Ruth, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They are amazing and have lived both an awesome life with an incredible marriage. We celebrated before heading out to Mammoth for my cousin's wedding with a BBQ at David and Carol's.

The Wilczynski's came out for the celebration! Isaac got to hang out with his Great-Aunt Bonnie, Great-Uncle Wayne, cousins Lindsey and Brad.

The family minus my parents and brothers, Grandpa - we see you back there!

My Grandfather gave a touching and emotional toast to my Grandmother. Showed just how wonderful and special these two are, not only to me, but to the family.

Grandma Joy got this awesome step stool for Isaac from one of the booths at the Cajun festival. Right away he grabbed a book and slowly backed up until he was sitting. His favorite thing now is to turn it upside-down and sit on the inside of it. Too funny.

All of a sudden 1-2 months ago, Isaac started to be afraid of water. Bath time, pools, car washes...

We are getting sooo much better especially with bath time, but the car wash was another story:

It cracks me up that we have conditioned him enough that "yaaay" means clap - no matter what!

6th Wedding Anniversary, 4th of July, Santa Barbara.

We celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary and the 4th of July in Santa Barbara. This was our first "family vacation" with just the three of us.

As you can see above, Isaac was rearing to go :)

First stop, the Santa Barbara zoo

Then off to Goleta for the Stowe House and Train Depot for an "old fashioned 4th of July party" - their words, promise.

Off to the pier and Main street for the fireworks show.

He did awesome for being so close. We stood on main street, super close to the beach with the barge for the fireworks. They were loud and spectacular. Isaac stayed awake up until and through the entire show. What a trooper!

Looking forward to many more family getaways.

Eric's job has him traveling everywhere. Up until now, the destinations have been in the US and mainly the mid-west. His first international trip was to Brazil. There he had a few meetings in Sao Paulo, Curitiba, and Florianópolis.

Of course he had to have the Brazilian cocktail, Caipirinha.

Eric brought back a few goodies including a beautiful handmade cotton shirt for my birthday, some Haviannas (since that is where they are made) and in the midst of the World Cup, soccer stuff for Isaac.

We missed him, he missed us, but he came home safely and had a great trip.

My birthday this year snuck up on me. Eric was traveling in Brazil for work and I had the little man to myself. Being that my birthday landed on a Wednesday, my girlfriends got together for some Sushi and a couple cakes!

Next year is going to be the big 3-0. Hopefully I will make it through...

Father's Day, Part 2

The second part of Father's Day took us to Grandpa Bob's home for brunch. I made a frittata (super proud of my asparagus/tomato/sausage egg dish!), Mom made home-made waffles, Michael and Yanelly brought some yummy muffins and fruit, and we all ate outside on a beautiful day.

We just loved that step in Grandma and Grandpa's living room.

Part three took us to David and Carol's for a triple celebration of Father's Day, Carol's Birthday, and my birthday.

After spending over 10 minutes walking up and down the step into the house, Isaac caught them having a lovely moment. I wonder if Isaac was thinking, "What are they doing up there?" :)

Father's Day this year was jam-packed! Eric made it home the day before - exhausted. After enjoying a bit of sleeping in Isaac brought in his "Da-Da" card and gift.

I think Isaac had better things to do - he LOVES phones and remotes (as you can see...).

Ventura holds these summer concerts in the park free for anyone who wants to sit on the grass and listen. We attended the Eagles Tribute Concert in the park. Picked up some local Greek food and rocked out to some Hotel California. Isaac liked the music, running around our blanket, meeting a friend or two, and dancing.

Our son just continues to sprout and grow into his body. He loves to laugh and we just can't get enough of it!!

The top 4 teeth have come in and Isaac has mastered the "hi/bye" wave, the hand to mouth part of blowing kisses, and giving kisses by leaning in. We are also running around more and getting on/off our ride toys. Recently, "dada" and "mommy" have been familiar words around here, repeated over and over during the day. I am not quite sure he has put the word to the person yet, but we are getting closer.

Before Isaac, there was Kaya. She is our first born.

When Isaac was born, our doggy took a step down in the totem pole - not intentionally but realistically, that's the way things go.

At first Kaya was uninterested in the new addition to the household, but as the little man became ambulatory, he started to interact with her all the time. Isaac will go over, give her a few taps on the back - every now and then a tail pull - and Kaya puts up with it. She is an awesome doggy.

Isaac loves his pull toys. They happened to both come from the booth at the Cajun Festival. He is a local woodworker and hand-makes all the toys on a sweat-powered saw that he literally pedals right there in the booth. Isaac has two, duckies and a train. Many hours of happiness come from those pull toys.

After retiring, my dad went back to CSUN for his Masters of Art. 5 yrs in the making since the initial thought, my family proudly sat in the rain watching my dad receive his diploma. The president announced the graduates were now alumni and join the CSUN alumni and it hit me, I was a CSUN alum - my dad just joined me, pretty awesome. We are so proud of you Papa!

Every year Simi Valley holds a Cajun festival full of fried catfish, zydeco music, and lots of beads. It's actually quite large, huge music stage and TONS of people.

Kevin and Connie's anniversary took them to Santa Barbara and we got the girls who Isaac DIES for - he lights up every time the girls come in sight. We started at Underwood Farms to pick strawberries, ended with them running through the sprinklers and laying out in the sun.

We are lucky to have them down the road from us.

Mother's Day 2010

My 2nd Mother's Day was phenominal. It was actually more like a Mother's Day weekend. My husband is amazing in numerous ways, but this weekend he exceeded this. Let me count the ways: he let me sleep in, an amazing spa pedicure, yummy dinner the first night at Cafe Firenze, flowers and chocolate covered strawberries, time with extended family and some wonderful Mommies, outlets, and ended the weekend with sushi (my favorite!).

Day Out with Thomas the Train

The Filmore Train Station had Thomas the Train visiting from its cross country tour, so we had to take the little man.

Accompanied by Grandpa George, we waited patiently in line (even though it was a bit warm) with all the hundreds of kids (I know! There were TONS of kids).

(He was a bit intimidated)

Got on the train and did so great! He looked out the window, hopped back and forth between Mom and Dad, and ate his goldfish.

After, we found a little bar that had what the adults needed after that kiddo train ride...

That night we hung out with Kaya and helped Daddy put in some electronic stuff.

All in all it was a great day and next year I think Isaac will enjoy it even more! Who wouldn't love trains and especially Thomas??

Underwood Farms is fun for the kiddos, has John Deer tractor rides, and takes you to the fields to pick your own fruit and produce. Strawberries, oranges, and so many vegetables. Fun!

Easter is always fun in the Schneider household, especially because it is Katie's Birthday (7th), cousin Sarah's birthday, and Great-Grandma Edith's birthday. The last two years will remain anonymous :)

We played with ladybugs from Katie, found a few eggs, and hung out with our favorite cousins! I swear, Carly is baby crack for our kid!!
