1 month old.

Time has flown so fast. I feel like I was just wishing to have this baby and being 1 week late. Now here we are 4 weeks later. Happy 1 month birthday Isaac!
So much has changed including his weight, sleep/eat/diapering schedule, and his facial expressions.
Just these past few days we have figured out the smile, not yet reactive to us, but definitely not just gas smiles. We are also starting to coo a little and recognize mommy and daddy by face and voice. Sleeping is still optional around here.
Here are the most recent pictures of our little guy... he honestly has changed so much!

(2 weeks behind)

We had our 2 week check up with the Pediatrician on March 10th. She definitely passed Eric and my expectations (since she came as a recommendation from work) and all went well. With the original problem of fast weight loss after birth, our little eater gained 1 lb weighing in at 7 lbs 14 ounces!! Unbelievable.
Just a note about how much our lives and conversations have changed since Isaac arrived...
During a feeding, there was a loud sound in our son's diaper. Without skipping a beat, we both looked down at the diaper simultaneously and I say, "Oh good... I have been waiting for the past 3 wet diapers to get that." Which was followed by a minute of uncontrollable laughter. Such conversations have become normal around here. He is totally worth it :)

Birth Day!

After 1 week of waiting past the due date, I was trying everything to induce myself naturally before being medically induced Monday 2/23/09. I had been having Braxton-Hicks type tightening contractions for 2 weeks already but my body couldn't seem to jump start the actual Labor contractions (or so I thought). The night of Friday 2/20/09 around dinner time I began to have uncomfortable contractions and Sunday they became every 8-10 minutes that night leaving me up in the hallway and not in my bed. But the next day they slowed down just a bit so I thought it was just like before - a false alarm. We had some visitors that day who brought some gifts (which ended up being a life savor) and around 7:30 pm the contractions were every 5-7 minutes and pretty strong.  So we decided to head to the hospital thinking the whole time they are going to send me home since I wasn't contracting every 3-5 minutes as we were told to hold out for. We got to the hospital around 8:45 pm, got checked in and checked by the midwife. To hers (she had to check twice) and our amazement I was 8 cm dilated! With barely enough time for medication I was moved to the delivery room.
With awesome Eric and nurse Carrie I pushed for 40 minutes started at 1 am on Monday having our baby boy naturally at 1:43 am.

We are so ecstatic to announce with love:

Isaac James Schneider
Born February 23, 2009 at 1:43 am
6 lbs 13.2 oz and 20.25 inches long

Today is his one week birthday, 7 days old. wow.
He is absolutely a miracle, gorgeous, and our lives will never be the same.

Due Date

So our due date has come... and gone...

Doctor says all looks good, our little guy is just cozy in my belly.
If no baby by 41 weeks, we will be heading to Labor & Delivery on Monday the 23rd to be induced.

Month 9

We have hit the home stretch and are in the 9th month.

Just mild contractions and tightening. Nothing that isn't regular or increasing. Could be tomorrow... could be next week... all I know is we are getting very anxious to meet our son!

January 2009

It has been a while due to the craziness that has begun mid January.
So here is the update...

January 11th was my amazing baby shower with so many wonderful people. I basically was given everything needed to start our little guy's journey in this world. We are so thankful.

Then on January 15th we FINALLY closed on our 1st place! It was a 30 turned almost 60 day escrow on a 3 bed 2 bath house with a den and great room located in south Simi Valley. It was by no means move in ready so with many many helping hands and a good 2 weeks of prep work (which was way less then anyone could have imagined) we were able to move in on February 1st.
Our new address is: 522 Talbert Avenue, Simi Valley, CA 93065

There are still many projects in the works including the kitchen and landscaping/outside work on the house, but overall we are so excited to finally get a nursery and now anxiously await the birth of our son.

Baby Pool

So it was brought to my attention we should have a baby pool to guess Baby Schneider's:
1. Date of Birth
2. Time of Birth
3. Height at Birth
4. Weight at Birth

A little help... Due date is February 16, 2009.

All who want in either respond to this post as a comment or just email me by February 1st.
(please keep your fingers crossed he doesn't come before that!)

We are still trying to think of something cool as a prize ;)
Good Luck!

December 2008

Christmas and Hanukkah have come and gone, along with 2008 and the sight of my feet! It was so awesome to see all the family and be around such generosity.

Stueve Christmas Party:

We had some great plans for New Years which included hanging with awesome friends but unfortunately Eric caught a bad cold and was in no shape to leave the house. So I kept him up long enough to see the ball drop at midnight, gave him a kiss on the forehead and took a 1/1/09 family picture. I am now almost over that same cold myself. No fun to be 34 weeks pregnant and sick.

32 weeks, 8 months

We've hit another milestone! 8 months, 32 weeks.
I have an amazing support system, at home and at work. Everyone has been amazing.
Less kicking overall yet more feet and elbow pushes and lots and lots of hiccups!
I can't believe how time has flown. He will be here before we know it.

Thanksgiving

We are very thankful for so many things this year. Starting with our wonderful family and new addition on the way, Joy's completion of chemotherapy and ever improving health, having a roof over our head and in a couple weeks hopefully our very first home, and our amazing circle of friends.

This year we were able to see both the Sherwin and Schneider families.

After stopping by David & Carol's we headed out to Ventura to Eric's Grandparent's. It was a busy yet wonderful day filled with too much food and lots of laughs. As a celebration of Joy's fight with breast cancer we got together and all wore pink for support. After a strip tease by George to show off his pink shirt, we enjoyed a great meal.

Crazy that Hanukkah and Christmas is just around the corner!

3rd Trimester!

We have made it to the 3rd trimester (28+ weeks)!

So far everything is looking good medically, I am growing by the minute, getting lots of good kicks, and per our last ultrasound he has turned head down. We had an awesome experience of the 3/4D ultrasound that included a setting for the (grand)parents and Eric, a large screen on the wall, and a DVD of our little guy! Amazing.

Look at his biceps already! He also has all fingers and toes...

Visit from TN

Nice this weekend to have a visit from our sister and niece, Danette and Izabella, from Tennessee. Got some wonderful moments with all the nieces together playing and loving each other. Looking forward to throwing a little boy in the mix!
